Weddings and such

Sunday, September 10, 2006

Most of our Saturday was consumed by parties; a birthday party with a clever magician for a 5 year old in the morning (which, I must say, was the first children's party that has not annoyed me in some way). And the afternoon and evening was a wedding for a very nice couple. It was a beautiful wedding, as far as weddings go, and it was full of sincere and amusing moments. I know the groom, who cried throughout most of the evening. He is a kind and amazing individual. I wish them peace and love for the rest of their lives.

I slept in today and although the day is a typical lazy nearly-fall Sunday, we do need to go to the mother-in-law's for dinner. More to come on that front....

This ends a busy week of back to work, to school, new routines, family disasters, and on and on. My brother is doing really well; he is still in the hospital, but off the suicide watch. I am hopeful that he has slowly taken his first small steps into the road of recovery. Thank you again for your love and concern.

Let's see what this week brings....

    Another wedding, huh? Congrats to them!

    Late summer early fall must be the proper time to get hitched.

    I love a good wedding.

    So glad to hear your bro is heading in the right direction, but he'll still be in our thoughts for a long while yet...

    I hope your brother continues his recovery as well. I'm glad to hear he is off the suicide watch.

    As for weddings... I don't know about them. I'm supposed to go to a friend's wedding ... and old high school friend who I'm in occasional touch with. But I won't know anyone but her and a couple of her sisters there.

    So the question is, do I really want to go out and force myself to be sociable? I need an answer to that quickly.. I'm already overdue for responding.

    Missy;
    I am hopeful that this will be a good week; the visit was typical, predictable, not sure if I feel like putting the experience to paper, though...

    SkyeBlue;
    Hello! So sorry I haven't been around much lately.

    Eric;
    The weather is a bit cooler, and the groom doesn't sweat so badly (maybe this is the explanation:)

    Chloe;
    He is getting better; now we need to keep him that way, and try and make sure that he doesn't slip back again.

    Now I am curious to see a photo of your friend. I forgot my camera, and thus the photo of the party favours, and not the bride!

    Connie;
    Thank you, my dear; xoxo

    Pat;
    We could/shaould ahve had more chilling time, but ended up at my mother-in-laws; no chilling there, that's for sure ;)

    Heidi;
    Thank you; let's hope that my brother can put this all behind him now and move forward.

    Michelle;
    The wedding decor was lovely; pink daisies and green apples were the decor theme; very fresh and pretty.

    Trundling;
    You're right; even though he is now on the path forward, it will still take some time to fully heal.

    Crag;
    Go; GO GO!! You might otherwise regret it. There were people at our dinner table at this wedding, that we did not know, and we ended up having a very enjoyable time, meeting these nice people. Perhaps you may even meet someone; weddings can be good places to meet people!

    I'm surrounded by weddings of late. It hammers it further home that I'm single and likely to remain that way for quite some time.

    I'm so glad your brother is doing better. Sometimes we have to reach the deep end to get back on top, I hope that was his case.
    That's moving, a crying groom. I'm not a big fan of crying men (because I'm very Latin and men are supposed to be machos here) but it's nice to know.
