Just a word about the weather...

Tuesday, September 19, 2006

It's been incredibly warm this week; Indian Summer...we went to the beach last night and have been getting sun tans outside gardening. Who knows how much longer this will last, but I fear it is fleeting, as the western parts of the country have had several frost warnings and even snow in the mountains already. Snow is a long way off for us, but when that cold blast comes, I will dread it. For now, we can sleep with the windows open and listen to the roar of the waves, the signals of the storms that abide at sea.

I wish I could tell you about the research I am doing, and the book I am writing, but I have vowed to keep my work life away from this fun space. When it is finished, perhaps...in the meantime, I have to switch gears and get back to work. Sigh....

:-( I'm dying to know about your work! When you're done with your book, please tell us about it! But I certainly understand having a place where you just post for fun!

Just you wait and see, there will be worse ones to come ;) Have a great day; with your freshly elected Liberal government, I might add.

I wish I could, but it risks some of my anonymity. I will tell all one day; because, I am like that; I can't keep my mouth shut.
    Have a great day!

I actually got a bit of sunburn on my shoulders and and back this weekend, wandering around in the city. The weather's been nice, but I actually liked the slightly cooler fall weather we'd been having just before that. Fall is good...winter, not so much.

I'm so fed up with working, it's wonderful just to imagine sleeping to the sound of waves :)
It's been really hot here too and when I have the time I try to get some sun :)

Sounds of the ocean . . . I'm so envious!! :) Great pic. And, I agree to just enjoy the weather while we can. :)

    It's not bad.

I seem to recall saying something like, "HOORAH for autumn!" and that as soon as I said that the forecast would probably turn out to be 85.

    What do you know?

    Ah, sounds devine!!

Open windows and the sound of waves...it must be wonderful to sleep at your house.

    Take care,

Enjoy the weather while you can Cathy. It's starting to feel very autumnal and cold in the mornings over here.

I love the fall, but I don't like the indecisiveness about whether it will be stinking hot one day or freezing cold...it's hard to plan a wardrobe.

    Devil Mood;
When will it start to get chilly in Porto?

For sure; today is damp and rainy; muggy, though...

We closed the windows last night and it got so stuffy and warm; Mr. C said it was the worst sleep he's ever had....why no windows open for you? Do the nights get very cold?

The weather will be turning cold before we know it. It is hard to plan what to send my son to school wearing, in the meantime...so that he's neither sweating nor freezing.

    Come for a visit!

    You can come too!

Autumnal Britain; must be a beautiful time of year there; I have only been in the summer. Autumn is the best time of year here.

I'm like that that... switching gears, like leading two different lives. Well maybe not so melodramatic like that.

Blogging is fun. Writing a school paper is not.
