Update

Wednesday, January 25, 2006

Environment Canada just changed the forecast and there is no longer a heavy snowfall warning. What a let-down. I was psychologically prepared for a snow day and had cancelled meetings for tomorrow, had a day of sledding and home with the family all thought out. Now it will likely be 4 cm of slushy muck and it will be grey and we'll have to slog in to work...so much for the cozy day at home. We still might have high winds, so there is a possibility that the power could still go out. We are prepared for that, with flashlights and lanterns strategically placed around the house just in case. It was only a week ago that this is what I was walking around in, in Quebec City...
Would you wish for a snow day or a fair weather day?

    Girl, I do not understand how near zereo isn't so bad, Skye pokes at log in the fireplace. The temp. keeps changing here and the barometeric pressure has almost reached 29. :}

    Anytime now, proably waitng on me to go to work,ha! It's defintely got the feel like any second the clouds are gonna bust open. You know my last post, I spent over two hours even hit save as draft and the hardest and most emotionally part of it got lost. I have got to get my printer running that would have helped alot. Later, take care. }

    I wouldn't mind a snow day...just as long as I don't have to deal with it until Easter, lol!

    I LOVE the snowy picture. It's beautiful.

    You know me, if it doesn't involve heat, i aint there!

    What a shame. A day off from reality is always good, I imagine, whether it be in the cold, or the heat. Hope all goes well. Take care, Meow

    I hate when you expect a snow day and the weather people are wrong. Sorry to hear it is just a little more snow to make life difficult.

    Tomorrow in Minneapolis it is suppose to be 45 degrees F. This has been the warmest January on record. Not one below zero day yet this month.

    After months of seeing the white crap...er snow, on the ground, I am ready for a sunny and warm day! Until then, the only thing keeping me warm right now is blankets and hot chocolate! LOL

    Love ya,
    Sarah

    A snow day for sure! After sub zero temperatures (well, -6C - hey, I was cold!) at the beginning of the week it warmed up and we got snow again yesterday. Not quite enough for sledding, but we'll see how it goes.

    Oh, I hate losing things I've written; the second version is never the same...

    Connie;
    The storm stayed in the Atlantic and we barely even ahd a breeze, let alone a gale force wind. Nothing. Back to work...

    MomyBlogR;
    We will have to wait for another day. Thanks.

    Michelle;
    But yet you wish for air conditioning ;)

    Meow;
    No day off from reality today, unfortunately.

    sjobs:
    At least we knew before bed last night that it would not be much of anything, and it wasn't.

    Sarah;
    Stay warm; we'll be complaining about the heat before we know it!

    Christina;
    Sounds like very similar weather to what we're having. Do you typically have snow days with school cancelled?...

    We were suppose to get freezing rain over here, all kinds of travel advisaries. Nothing. It was as if the sky dried up all at once. It's a good thing, I hate hearing about accidents.

    Sorry you didn't get your snow day. It still amazes me with all the equipment we have these days to predict weather, that it still is not an exact science. Mother nature has other plans and likes to let us know, I guess.

    I would like to get some rain by the end of winter! I would love a rainy day today! That ain't gonna happen.

    I'm always SO disappointed when "snow days" don't happen. This is the first job I've ever had which actually allows for snow closings.

    Yo! I like snow! Yeah!

    Cathy - I'll take "Mixed Drinks " for 500. ;)

    I'd definitely want a snow day.

    Oh well, at least tomorrow is Friday!

    YAY!

    Peace & Hugs,

    - Neo

    Talk about crazy weather..It's supposed to me mild, plus 6cel this weekend.

    Glad the storm missed you Cathy.

    Angel;
    Freezing rain can be worse than heavy snow. Glad it didn't turn into anything.

    Nancy;
    Yes, mother nature had differnt plans for me today...

    Stepphanie;
    So have you been able to take advantage of that perk yet?

    Kay;
    Hello!

    Neo;
    Yes, TGIF (soon:)!

    Heidi;
    You'll be out in flip flops! :)I haven't checked out our weekend weather yet, but I briefly heard mention of minus 25 with wind chill.....brrrrr

    Cathy - we've never had school canceled due to snow , but there have been a couple of ice storms where the streets were absolutely treacherous and then they did close.
