Weather Warnings

Wednesday, January 25, 2006

We are expecting a severe winter storm tonight. 20-40 cm of snow and 100km/hr winds. This can only mean one thing; our power will go out. If you don't hear from me after this everning, you know we are in a snow drift with no heat, and are not able to get to work or school. (well, actually, we will be very prepared and would most likely have the fireplace on and be playing boardgames by candle light...)

I am currently making calls to cancel meetings I had scheduled for tomorrow and going through the storm preparedness plans. Seriously, now this is the Canadian winter I know.

Take Care Friends.

    Board Games by candelight?

    (sigh)

    That is the life!

    Stay safe in that storm!

    Winter!!! I don't like tropical heat, but I don't like the perils of winter either.

    BRING IT ON BABY!!!

    Why did we not get this? We've had a bunch of snow, but nothing we can't handle :) Boardgames by candlelight sounds cozy!

    Oh my, well the candle light and fire sound cozy. Something is due in here tonight also, mmm, my guess wind and mo'rain. Til later. :)

    MissB;
    We are hoping for a dafe snow day!

    Angel;
    Agreed.

    Eric;
    Easy for you to say....;)

    Stephanie;
    It is just developing over New England, just in preparation to move up the Gulf of Maine, over the Atlantic Ocean to pick up lots of moister, and then intensify right over Halifax County and Cape Breton. You missed out; it is beginning to form over you right now but won't physically be a storm until it reaches us tonight.

    SkyeBlue;
    Ah, but no snow for you. Good luck with your weather. More rain, good grief...

    Sounds like serious snuggle weather!

    Cathy - Man, I'd hate to shovel all that snow! Keep that stuff up North! ;)

    Try to stock up and stay warm. Hopefully it's not as bad as they are forcasting. (I'll say a prayer for you and yours)

    Be safe!

    Peace & Hugs,

    - Neo

    It's just been here. The weather you're getting, I mean. Where my mum used to live, the boat shed was blown to pieces and the guest house had water around the living room windows. A tad wet inside...

    But it's not too bad here, though, cold and snowy, but that's winter!

    And the kids have had ski days in kindergarten / school (i.e. cross country skiing) and luv it :)

    I know that may be a little uncomfortable, maybe scary or worrying but it sounds so romantic and cosy, I feel like having a snow storm! Lucky kids ;) I hope you get your power on fast!

    I'll pray that you stay warm and dry!

    That makes me happy that it doesnt snow in Texas. Although we have to deal with tornados and floods and hurricanes. I'm not sure which is worse.

    I hope that you survive and get to do what you need tomorrow. Stay safe.

    Stay safe and warm. Hope the storm isn't too severe. I'll be thinking of you in our forecast 38C heat today. Can't quite decide which I'd rather !!! Take care, Meow

    Will;
    Actually it isn't that cold today; hovering near zero:)

    Richard;
    Could be;)

    Neo;
    We have someone plow us out :)
    But looks like it won't be necessary after all...

    Scholiast;
    I would love a stay at home snow day with everyone here, but we might not get it. I also love cross country skiing but it is very ahrd to find them for children here.

    Devil Mood;
    My fingers are crossed that the power does not go out. The snow is not supposed to be so heavy now.

    Alysa;
    I take snow over those kinds of storms...

    Heidi;
    I'm not counting yet, what's wrong with me?...

    Tee;
    Lovely new photo!:)

    Michelle;
    We are and we will!

    Meow:
    I don't know which I'd rather either...the heat gets to me, but so does the cold...
