5 more things, and then I promise to keep it to myself

Thursday, January 05, 2006

I am still on the 5 things I am grateful for each day kick. I will write them down in my journal from now on, otherwise I will bore you (and myself) with these on my blog.

Today, I am grateful for:
1. The babe's first tooth! Yeah! Maybe he'll be a little less fussy. Here's hoping.
2. The ability to spoil my children. Just because. To celebrate the first tooth, we went out and bought a dog. The little squeeky one in the photo.
3. People who love children. Like the lovely one who will watch the babe three days a week. For the ones in the grocery store line up, the ones who stop and coo. Thank you. It really means a lot. People who don't love babes can kiss off; cranks...you were babes too, once.

4. Hobbies. Thanks for reminding me of this one, Chloe. For photography, scrapbooking, crafts, art, reading, blogging, games and on and on. What fun.

5. Nature. There would not be us if it weren't for you. Here's to you, I dedicate my life to you. I am every day grateful. I wish everyone else were.

And on a totally different topic, we are going to an engagement party on Saturday night. We were asked to bring a useful gift. Do you think they'll be offended by this? I think it is perhaps the most useful thing these two people could possibly receive.

    OOooo goodie i'm first!
    I think it's a fabulous gift, its functional and its a book, who doesn't like books?

    Anyone who gets offended at a sincere gift sucks. I think it's ok, assuming it wasn't written by Dr.Phil or Dr. Laura.

    Michelle;
    Oooo goodie, you're the first, my Michelle, ma belle :)
    This person loves books, just not these kind.

    Welcome! It is not written by either of them, although I briefly thought about a Dr.Phil book.

    Vani;
    Thank you and from the babe; thanks!

    Lisa;
    Welcome! I wish I had as well. It is actually something married people could read as well. It's very good.

    Another good thing is to get them His Needs Her Needs. Great for couples before and after they get married.

    oh and AW baby! I love babies :)

    It is definitely a good gift. And, this is such a great thing--to write down the things that you are grateful/thankful for everyday. Have a great Friday.

    The tooth is terrific, and I think the book is perfect!

    (I think I'll go get a copy even though I'm not engaged...just to learn up on something)

    And don't keep stuff to yourself, silly!

    In case you hadn't noticed, I love babies too! Sometimes even older kids, and, on occasion, my own ;)

    Beautiful baby you've got there! :D

    What a fabulous book. Have to look it up, and purchase it, as my cousins have just got engaged. I imagine it would be fun to read !!
