Sailing, sailing...

Sunday, August 06, 2006

We went with friends on a fishing boat today, touring around some of the prettiest stretch of Nova Scotia's coastline. I took hundreds of photos. I'll post more on my Flickr page. My son drove the boat almost the entire time, with some help from our friend D, and his father.

We had a go at jigging for mackerel (no luck)

and saw many nice sights...it was a perfect day. Tomorrow we will be going camping overnight; it's a long weekend here, so we are making the most of it.

Your son has a future there, it seems :) It looks wonderful! And so fresh. We're having a heat wave and lots of forest fires, so it's not looking great here :(

Looks gorgeous! The only "sailling" we've done recently was with the giant ferry boat to Denmark, not quite the same feeling...

Like the Aegean; now I must see it for myself!

The weather was fine yesterday; rainy in Halifax today.

Sorry to hear about your heat wave.
And yes, maybe this will be his calling...

It was loads of fun; one of our best days this summer (thus far!)

I once took a ferry from a German island to the southern tip of Denmark; Rodby Haven (from Fehmarn).

Not one bit. and with my son at the helm, there was some rocking going on! There were people from Toronto on board, and they had taken so much gravol that they were zombies for the entire trip!

Have you had the chance to go boating this year? It is so refreshing and relaxing...I hope you get the chance.

The weather really co-operated and our companions couldn't have been better.

    I'd be ok with that!

The water is really really deep in these parts, fortunately...

Thank you; these are the best moments of life; memories are made from these moments.

I am biased, of course, but it really is. You should visit some time.

I think there is beauty and diversity of life and experiences wherever we are; if I were a tourist where you live, I would be amazed at the things that you take for granted, and vice versa...Having said that, I feel very fortunate to live here, because it is beautiful.

Hello! I hope you are well. xo

I hope you had a great one as well.

It was...I hope you had a peaceful weekend as well.

The camping didn't go well...I am still processing that whole experience!

    Thank You!

I would love to see some of your photos from the Carolinas...
And my son was thrilled; our friends were so great and they treated him so special. It was loads of fun for us all.

    Thanks for stopping by!
