BOOM, chicka rocka chicka...

Wednesday, August 02, 2006

I've had one of THOSE days. Has anyone read the Dr. Seuss book "Because a little bug went Ka-CHOO", which illustates the chain-of-events phenomenon? I had a chain-of-events kind of day. Because a heat wave hit California...
Thunderstorms came across North America...
And struck in my backyard late last night...
Which woke up my child...
Who came into my bed...
But couldn't get back to sleep...
So we all were awake by 5 am...
Which made us all cranky...
Which caused the day to go very badly...

Would you like for me to be specific? No, on second thought, I've lived the day and am here to type about it, so now I think I'd rather not live it all over again by explaining it.

We're supposed to have more thunder and lightening tonight. God help me.

    Cathy..Stay Safe!

OMG last night was the worst thunder and lightening storm in years...One person was killed by a tree that landed on his car while driving. 400,000 were without power..close 100,000 still without.
Tonight more to come but not as severe.

    Crazy friggen weather this summer!
Hope u have an easier night.

    Heidi;
Yikes! I hadn't heard about this, but I've been watching the severe heat warnings throughout Montreal. I hope you are staying cool.

You should have some cooler weather coming by later tomorrow, hopefully.

I am hoping for no storms tonight. Fingers crossed!

please, GOD let the cooler weather come here too!!! Did you take that photo?

    Hello Steph.
You must be sweltering; I've been watching the Boston tv. We had it really hot here today and maybe tomorrow, but it should be much better by tomorrow night.

No, it's not mine; it belongs to a colleague, actually. I should have credited him, but didn't want to put his name on here. I have a policy of only posting my own photos, but broke my own rules this time, becuase I've never been able to capture lightning.

It's hard to do! I forwarded a whole how-to to erikku once. The gist of it being A.) stay safe B.) keep snapping, because if you wait 'til you see it it's already gone. cool though!

Sorry about the heatwave. We'll try to do better next time. We're nice and mild now in the Berkeley. So you should be sleeping better, soonish.

    Again, sorry.

    Greg in California.

Yikes, sounds very spooky. I guess we all have "those" kinds of days. We had one a few nights back with the neighbours cats on heat, they kept us awake from 3 am onwards.....not a productive day :(

I'm so glad that there's cooler wind blowing in England the past few days. Going to London to look for flats is becoming more bearable... except of course, there's the sleazy estate agent.

wow, that looks serious and scary. I usually enjoy thunderstorms, unless my dog starts barking at them. so i guess they're okay to watch when they don't disturb those around us.
I hope your day is better tomorrow. :)

    Hmm, they missed me.

Thunderstorms are only good when you are not trying to sleep.
