Tomato Soup and Proverbs

Monday, December 12, 2005

"A nice warm tummy, makes a happy heart." Says my son to me while slurping his tomato soup for lunch. "Where did you hear that?" I ask. "I just made it up." He shrugs. My luv.

    What a nice saying. You should send that in to Campbells. It would make quite a commercial.

    He made it up? How old is he? Are you sure he didn't just read it off the can?

  1. Blogger Lois Lane said:

    Awww! I think he just created the new slogan for Campbell's.

    Angel;
    I took you up on your suggestion. I contacted Campbells and sent them the story. I'll probably get some 10 cent off coupons. :)

    Anhoni;
    He's 4, and can't read yet. I am still wondering if he heard this somewhere, but he comes out with stuff like this rather often. Freaks me out sometimes.

    Lois;
    You heard it here first! ;)

    and he is so right. my heart never feels good on an empty stomach.
    he should be a dietician.

    A dietician or a marketing executive! Kids come up with the most interesting things to say!

    Tomato soup makes me feel happy, too! Especially Campbell's Tomato Bisque, which is really hard to find, for some reason.

    Happy tummies!

    That's beautiful, sounds like the beginning of a book.

    Tomato Bisque; I've never had it; I'll have to go and see if we have it here in Canada. If we do, I'll mail you a case.

    Hmmm, perhaps "Tomato Soup for the 4-Year Old's Soul" :)

    Just wonderful. I love when kids come up with these golden nuggets of prose.

    Dr.Deb;
    Unfortunately not everything that somes out of his mouth is a golden nugget!

    Heidi;
    Yeah, I know; it will be a rare thing if we have something that is not easy to come by in the U.S.

    Your son is correct, as usual.

    My Mom always served tomato soup w/a grilled cheese sandwich after a hard day of playing in the snow. It's still one of my favorite winter meals.

    I've always said "Happiness is a full fridge." I started saying that when I lived on my own and was making just enough to decide whether to pay the rent or eat for the next couple weeks.

    Soups and stews... always good comfort food. I think I like your son.

    Stephanie and Blackcrag;
    He has good taste, I agree.
