I understand your point. Not to debate the issue, but there are many many people who do not celebrate Christmas, as you well know. I avoid the "Happy Holidays" phrase because I celebrate Christmas. Some of my Muslim, Indian, African and Jewish friends do not celebrate Christmas as I know it and so I would wish them each best wishes for their celebrations and traditions. So, if you celebrate Christmas, then Merry Christmas. If not, then, as Dr. Seuss said..."Merry Merry".

Christmas, it's not just for Christians you know. Shortly after the Roman hostile management takeover of a recent branch of Judaism they hijacked the winter solstice together with all the other pagan festivals and moved all their newly aquired important religious days on to them. So Xmas by any other name was celebrated a long time before the Christians arrived and really for the reasons I outlined in my blog. Anyway all that stuff aside. I sincerely hope that you and the people you care about have a very Happy Christmas and that the new year will keep you all smiling, at peace and in good health.
