5 Things that Bloggers don’t know about me…

1. I have weird food fetishes. I drink prolific amounts of coffee, but only until 11:00 a.m. After that I am most likely to switch to other caffeinated beverages like Diet Coke. Most of my food habits are unhealthy. I love red licorice or any kind of jujube, jellybean or jelly candy (Swedish berries are a favourite). I eat microwave popcorn on a regular basis. Oddly enough, there are some junk foods which I do not like at all, such as ice cream and potato chips. My all time favourite lunch is either a beef and bean burrito (I know I know) or spinach dip on bread.

2. I am a shopaholic. I am certain that my name would appear somewhere in the definition, if there is in fact one. My most favourite things to shop for include shoes, jeans, things for my children, and did I mention shoes? I have my mother to thank for this disease or thrill, I don’t know which it is. Her love was manifested in things purchased. I am not going to delve into a psychoanalysis here, but I think you get the idea.

3. I have traveled to three other continents in addition to the one I reside on. I’ve traveled through much of Europe, been to North Africa and Vietnam and Thailand in Asia. I’ll be going to South America (Uruguay) in the upcoming year or two.

4. I have a PhD. In Geography. This does not mean that I know all the names to every capitol city in the world. And I suck at Trivial Pursuit. Especially the Geography Category. It’s embarrassing.

5. When I was 13 years old, my senile grandfather, who was living with us, asked me if I “wanted to go downstairs with him…” . The innuendo was obvious. Nothing happened. He went to a nursing home shortly thereafter. Our family never spoke of this incident again. I do not think it has “scarred” me in any way. But who knows?

I'd love for the following people, if they so chose, to do this:
Heidi, Meow, MomyBlogR, Erikku, and Angel....

    Steve;
    Great news that you moght be travelling to Asia sooner than later; work or pleasure?
    No, do not call me by the Dr. title. Or the Mrs. title. I hate them both. ;)

    Cathy - I wonder what a someone who's not got "weird" food fetishes eats. I've yet to meet one, I think :) I eat a strange combination of super-healthy suplimented by the chocolate and snack-food food groups myself.

    Happy Shopping!!

    Steve;
    I know a few people who have done this, mostly to South Korea. I can get in touch with them if you are looking for contacts. Or perhaps you know people there as well? Good luck with the test. With your quick wit, I'm sure you'd make a great English language instructor.

    So true; healthy mixed with junkie is the best combination.

    You tagged me?

    I'll be off now.

    I'm glad nothing came of the advances.
    The coffee and diet soda thing are my two biggest vices. :)

    good to get to know you. i'm glad that "incident" lead to no where. if it was scarring, you would know it i'm sure.

    All the places you've been too are very cool. I'm jealous of the Geography degree. That sounds like something I'd be interested in - but what do you do with it? LOL. Teacher?

    Have you had Swedish fish? They're the best. I go through phases with diet coke, coffee, popcorn, etc. I get bored eventually though.

    As for your grandfather - I'm sorry that happend to you but your so lucky that it didn't go further. You say you don't think it scarred you, but I think maybe in a small way it would. I mean, it's your grandfather. The fact that you think enough to bring it up seems to show it was somewhat signifigant. I'm not a doctor though. I'm just saying, I think it would really upset me, personally.

    Superman;
    Let me know if you ever want the e-mail of my firend whose there.

    Armaedes;
    I love the new photo. Are you certain the girlfrien is actually writing this week, and it;s not just you in disguise?...I want to believe.

    Erikku;
    I'll be over soon.

    Lois, Vani and Tee;
    I knew you girls would make nice comments about the last one. Regarding the scarring issue, I don;t think I am in any way, but Tee made a really good point; it came up here and now, randomly in my head as something to mention, so obviously something festers around in there...hmmm...

    Tee;
    I teach at a University, although am on maternity leave now, as you know, and on sabbatical beginning in January. I live my job most of the time.

    Am I seeing right..Wow! I'm on a crazy food binge lately and those are on the top of my list. :X

    Oyeee the pressure of being tagged. Cathy, I promise in the New Year..Which is not to far
    away. :)

    Angel;
    Looking forward to it.

    Heidi;
    No pressure!
    And yes, I know. I am very odd to not like these things. Chips and dip are yummy at Christmas-time. I make up for it with other nasty goodies, though. I was snacking on Santa Claus jujubes just this afternoon, for example.

    I guess I have been tagged, too. Willl endeavour to post mine in the next day or two ... need to think :-)
    Can't believe you don't like potato chips and ice cream. Wow. My favourite snack, whilst relaxing in front of the TV, would be a can of Diet Pepsi, a block of Cadbury's Dairy Milk chocolate and a packet of plain thin potato chips. Yum !!! Interesting textures .... you must try it sometime !!!

    My parents call the Trivia Pursuit pie pieces "cookies". I hate playing with them.

    This was great little exercise as I now know you a bit better!

    That story about your grandfather was...disturbing. Poor guy. Poor you.

    Wow, you're a Geology professor...

  1. Blogger Cathy said:

    Meow;
    Looking forward to it!

    Anhoni;
    Steve tagged you. Are you going to do it? Perhaps you have already, I'll have to go check.

    I have no issues with what happened many years ago. It speaks to issues that my mother has, however.

    I am a geography professor. Geology, geography, tomatO, tomAto :)
