Just Peace

Wednesday, October 19, 2005

The sun is shining without a cloud in the sky. First time in over a week. The house is peaceful. Wind rustles the fall leaves outside. The first fishing boat of the season glides through the Bay. The baby is sleeping. He's having a good day. Swimming lessons tonight. Pure joy. I love to watch my 4 year old, recently turned fish. Two moms with three boys. I love to watch them too. Fascinating. More peace.

I have been on a great reading streak lately. Reading James Frey My Friend Leonard right now. Amazing. Here's what I plan on chewing next:
Gabriel Garcia Marquez Love in the Time of Cholera
Kim Edwards The Memory Keepers Daughter
Jennifer Weiner Goodnight Nobody
Lao Tsu Tao te Ching (again)
Leo Tolstoy War and Peace (again)
Carole Radziwell What Remains

Peace.

    Heard great things about Jennifer Weiner Goodnight Nobody. I read Lao Tsu Tao te Ching several years ago and loved it.

    I've heard good things about Goodnight Nobody, too. The plot sounds great. A few to get through before that one, though.
    Romani;
    Peace rather than chaos; it can be done.
    Chloe;
    Early in the morning when the babe is napping, and in the evening when both boys are in bed. I have stopped wathcing t.v. lately except for my few favorite shows; on the computer or reading instead. During the day when the baby is laying on the floor or sitting in his swing, sometimes I read out loud (feeling like a lunatic). He thinks I am talking to him.
    Lois;
    Hope you're having a good one, too!

    Thanks for the number picks at The Big Q today! Your one of the people who's numbers I'm going to play.

    If I win using your numbers, I'll pay for you to go see Fiddler!

    Take care,

    I used to love watching my daughter at swimming lessons, we started her when she was 4 months old. Living in the tropics, everyone has a pool so its a wise thing to have your child taught to swim.
    I am reading James Frey's....A million little pieces....just love it!

    What a great reading list--I will have to check out some of these myself. :)

    Sorry (for both of us)they weren't the winning ones.
    Michelle;
    4 months; wow!
    My 4 year old still can't swim, but he's doing great putting his face in and he will move on to the next level after Christmas, I think. Important for him to learn to swim, being surrounded by water, too.
    Chase;
    Let me know what you're reading next!
    Marel;
    Let me know what you're reading, too. And yes, too bad every day couldn't be peace...
