I think deeply.
I feel deeply.
I wear my heart on my sleeve.
It tells all.
It hides nothing.
I am exposed.
To the elements.

My best and worst virtues.

I get hit hard.
I feel pain easily.
So too the joy.
Life is raw.
I make it that way.
I take it that way.

Nothing remains hidden.
With rare few exceptions.

You see it all.
I reach out.
I provide.
I do not expect anything in return.
Yet it would be nice to receive it.

You will not get this.
Will not understand.
Only those who are
This way.
To the core.

I find no joy in your sadness
So why do you find it in mine?

    how beautiful.
I'd like to think i am one of those who understand. because it is a virtue to be that way.yet, it is frustrating too. being appreciated once in a while is necessary.

If you like to think you are, then you must be.
    Thanks. It spilled out.
    I added yours too:)
Thank you for your comments. I have never written traditional poetry, but when something is on my mind, this is the kind of stuff that just spills out. But man, does it feel good.
Shallo? No way; my man I mistook for a woman...:)
I had a feeling you would.Hugs to you too.

Some of us have got it, and some have not you Cathy, definately have it! Wonderful piece :)

Can i just add that i find you a rare talent. Usually those academically inclined are usually lacking when it comes to art etc. You appear to have it all!

I just noticed this morning a reply I made on another person's blog. She posted a picture of herself but just half so u can see her nose , eyes and forhead....For some reason I thought I was reading your blog and commented to her using your name " Cathy so nice to place a face" etc..And her name was Nancy. ..oops..lol

    I think you are, too.
You are right about most academics. I guess you could call me atypical. I got into this profession for the teaching and learning, but I do not enjoy some aspects of the research. The publish or perish but freaks me out even though I am tenured.
Nice to know you and so many others understand.
    I'm sure she doesn;t mind; I know I wouldn't :)
