Where 'ya been and watcha' been up to?

I caught the babe's nasty stomach flu and was knocked flat for a few days, and am only just starting to feel better now. Then yesterday, while doing yard work, we noticed black smoke pouring out the vent from our furnace room and the entire day was spent trying to sort that whole mess out. We need a new oil tank, but thankfully the house and everyone who resides in it are fine :). The worst thing of all however, is the fact that my favourite Hershey's chocolate bar has been recalled due to a salmonella scare.....

But today is a bright and better day...we now have Sunday shopping in Nova Scotia and I am going to the Bookstore! I'll let you know what I purchased, because I know that you are waiting on the edge of your seats to find out...

    Well - ick to the stomach flu. Glad to hear you're getting back on your feet. I dunno about Hershey's chocolate as I've never been a great fan of it (except Symphony - that's one of there's isn't it?), so salmonallea down that line doesn't impact me too much. Now, if it was salmonella in chocolate Digestives I'd be in a funk.

    Cool to see what books you buy - I'm between stuff at the minute and looking for inspiration.

    Stomach flu is rough. Glad you are feeling better. ^_^

    Your description of your furnace troubles reminds me of those scenes in "A Christmas Story" when the dad is always coming out of the basement cussing in a cloud of soot.

    Have fun shopping.

    Grunt;
    I love O'Henry bars; do you have these in the US?...I know that you have many that we don't have.

    We ended up at the Toy store getting some Christmas shopping done before the mad rush.

    I'll make a book-related post early this week.

    Eric;
    Rough...you have no idea...
    And Mr.C's favourite movie is Christmas Story; I love that scene with the furnace!

    fb;
    I love your artwork. Both cat pictures are wonderful. You should seel your art. Really...

    Would you like for me to send you a Canadiana cd and an O'Henry bar (once the salmonella scare is over, of course...)

    Devil;
    We went to the toy store and were all too tired and cranky to go to the bookstore. But I will make a book post very soon and tell you about what I have been reading...

    Glad you're feeling better and the house is okay! My landlord needs to buy a new furnace, and every year it's an adventure trying to get the heat on for the first time.

    Of COURSE I always want to know about the books you buy ;) Currently (still) reading The Best American Nonrequired Reading and Spook here.

    Oh no, so sorry to hear you caught that flu as well:-( Hope you're 100% real soon! That's scary about your oil tank...glad you're all safe! We had to have ours changed last year. I hadn't realized that in Nova Scotia you didn't have Sunday shopping yet...it's been a few years since we've had it here. There was a lot of grumblings about it but the malls are very busy on Sundays so I guess people like it!!
