Monday

Monday, February 27, 2006

I didn't leave the house today (but did get dressed before noon). I was home with the boys and the temperature was minus 20 degrees C with the wind chill. Blink and the moisture from your eyes freezes your eyelids shut. The weather forecast is for more of the same:Tuesday: flurries, Wednesday: flurries, Thursday: flurries....you get the idea. Once we reach March, we pyschologically prepare for spring, but the reality is that we could have two more months of winter.

I have some interesting work going on this week; I will eventually post about it. In the meantime today, the three of us were quite happy to be home and be lazy, meandering from watching shows in tv to colouring and then playing with Playmobil characters and computer games. I had a chicken in the crock pot and it turned out wonderfully. I made some homemade baby food and it actually turned out well. A very mundane Monday but lovely nevertheless. Tomorrow, my father is caring for the babe again and I will be working in my office, trying desperately to get an article written. But I look forward to a good day ahead, and I am going to be picking up a book I had ordered that will be really useful for my work. This means a trip to the Bookstore and Starbucks without kids.
How was your Monday and what are you doing on Tuesday?

    My Monday was great, Cathy. I was hardly home, spent only about 30mins on the computer (that's a first for me, lately), had a lovely lunch and 3 hour chat with a friend, another friend visited in the evening and stayed till 12.30am (I need sleep !!!). Tuesday is coming along nicely too. Hope yours goes well. Take care, Meow

    Well, you got dressed so you did more than me. haha :) I didn't have to work today or Sunday, so having two days off in a row was so great. :) As for Tuesday, it would be nice to get out with the kids but I'm so lazy in the mornings. Then, I work in the evening. I hope that you get lots of work done. And, have you had the cinnamon dolce latte . . . it's good!

    My monday has been long. On top of my own problems today, some friends had world class freak outs. And my siblings father is going in for surgery tomorrow and has a 25% chance of making it. Which covers my Tuesday, I am going to distract my sister while she is at the hospital.
    Now I'm going to watch Firefly on dvd and ignore people. yay.
    xo

    you know about my Monday. I was cooking and then writing. Made some phonecalls for work and that was it. Tuesday: this cooking thing makes the kitchen a mess. So it's cleaning day and then pancake day.

    I had a really slow Monday. Wanted to get more done that I actually did, but what the heck. Today is our older son's 13th birthday so we'll be having a family party this evening. Wheee! We have a teenager in the house. :-)

    I'm ready for spring too, but we didn't really much of a winter here.

    I had my first day off in weeks. I'm actually glad my friend didn't end up getting the concert tickets, because I did tons around the house, bought a few books, and rented some movies. I even took a long walk despite the cold. I bought mochi bean buns, which I swear I will not try to make at home. I had tea WITH tapioca, so I can finally say "Hell, no!" as an educated consumer, instead of always wondering what bubble tea is like.

    Today is more of the same :)

    I actually enjoy playing with PlayMobil...we spent two hours setting things up and then the babe woke and we never really ended up playing with what we had set up!

    Sarah;
    I am also addicted to American Idol but Amazing Race also starts tonight; a dilemma.
