Rankin & Bass, Pancakes and Sunday (not so) funnies...

Sunday, November 20, 2005

These fellows keep appearing around the house. How did they get here? he asks...Perhaps they jumped out of the t.v. Well, then we should turn on the show and see if they're still there on the show or not... the pure magic and joy from the mind of a 4 year old. There will be more, courtesy of the wonderful magical Rankin & Bass, popping up around the house in the days ahead.

And meanwhile, coffee, pancakes, and the Sunday papers, with not so much innocence. Perhaps we'll go to the waterfront and have greasy french fries and battered haddock for dinner.

    i like the little presents!
    greasy fries are always yummy. and not so bad for your health, considering how good they are for the soul. xx

    I loved those shows as a four year old and now as a grown-up (on paper only).

    I want to be...a DENTIST!

    Chloe;
    French fries for the soul...for sure!

    Superman;
    Proof we have crime too, unfortunately. You sweet Uncle, you. So much fun, playing with the minds of little ones.

    Angel;
    Mr. C and I love them, too. Even moreso now, perhaps. Remember having to wait for them to come on tv and now in the days of VHS and DVDs...it takes a little of the magic away, so we create our own magic.

    MissB;
    Yes, that's right! We don't have Yukon Cornelius, though....

    I don't even read papers anymore. I read the ads in the Sunday paper though. I do still get news online, so I am not oblivious to what is happening in the world.

    Hope you get your fries and enjoy your Sunday Cathy!

    Nancy;
    I can barely get past the front page...and it looks like we're staying in; the weather has turned rather wet and yucky; don't want to go out with just getting over colds.

    Cathy..Have u ever tried Poutine?
    Greasy fires, cheese curds and hot gravy poured over. It's a quebec " thing"..They actually serve it at Mcd's..lol

    Enjoy your Sunday with Fries :)

    Heidi;
    Oh yes, I love poutine...but not the one from Mcd's, though; we have Manhattan Fries and they make a yummy poutine. Turns out we aren't going after all; it's too wet and rainy out now. Oh well. Would have been good for the mouth and for the soul, but not so for the stomach! Now what shall we have??

    Singing...we're a couple of misfits, we're a couple of nitwits, why must we be misfits, because we don't fit in....

    Dr.Deb;
    Yes, we love them, too. I put the photo of the front page of the local paper up because an American friend mentioned that she thought we didn't have crime here. Unfortunately, we do. Hope you're having a great Sunday.

    I miss watching Rudolph!! I really should get the DVD before my kids are too old for it. Those little figures are adorable.

    Funny how people think there's no crime in Canada, eh?

  1. Blogger Cathy said:

    Christina;
    OH you should get it; and they will never be too old!

    I wish there were no crime!

  1. Blogger Michelle said:

    Compared to America, Canada's crime level is very low.
    You got to love lazy Sunday's! Pancakes and good coffee....yumm!

    I can only assume you lot are all on the mend!

    I love poontang too but I didn't know that girls in Quebec ate it, nor that it was available at McDs. Great tip though, I feel a powerful hunger coming on.

    Crime in the papers... you are right, those red noses are a disgrace. Obviously embezzlement in public health is preventing cold remedies from reaching the masses!

    Jase Dear;
    I do beleive that your nose might also be red, not from the cold but rather from the cheap vino?...
