YOB MEME

Sunday, September 09, 2007

While googling around for interesting "stuff" related to my previous post today (see below), I decided to type in 1971, the year of my birth. What fun! Here's a Meme for anyone up to the task: simply type in your birth year into a google image search and post any interesting photos you stumble across. I am looking forward to seeing what you find! Who knows, maybe I'll even come up with a prize for the most eclectic group of images...In the meantime, here's what I came across:
1971 Audio Equipment: High Tech!
Which you might want to use to listen to the formerly adorable Michael Jackson.
Lovely hairdos, ladies.

This babe was born (we might be friends!).

This poor dear died (now I feel ancient).

A 1971 cartoon in honour of Earth Day (even then we lamented).

F1 Car racing looked like this. I think I would prefer it to today's races...

Which I would rather not watch on a t.v. like one of these (we had one like the bottom row; third from the left).

And last but not least, I was sad to come across this photo, of the Twin Towers, being constructed, in the year of my birth. I remember caring for my oldest son, just a babe, as I watched them go down.

I feel so retro looking at those things, but retro in a good way.
How cute was Michael Jackson there! :)
You're right, this is a fun meme.

That's a cool meme idea. I may just take you up on it in the next week or two. (I love Google :)

    Michael Jackson was so cute.

The picture of the towers was sad. I was at home with my son Nick, then 3 years old, when they came down. I was also 7 months pregnant with Julian at the time.

That is a fascinating thing to do -
    :)

My little guy came back from camp
    and said
"We listened to Michael Jackson in
    the shower.
...but don't worry - it was the
music - he wasn't actually there."

    ha!
