Beautiful British Columbia

Sunday, November 27, 2005

Four days basking in the beauty of the Okanagan.
Not looking for Ogopogo, but seeing how well his waters are faring.
Testing new equipment, new monitoring techniques. Among amazing people.
The family fared well, but I knew that they would.
Ten hours; who cares...it was great. Snow across the country (with one really slippery landing in Montreal, Heidi; you are having some harsh weather already...), but still none here.
Back to the routine.

    I went to BC a few years ago, on my ONE real vacation, completely alone, first time on an airplane. The reason I went there is a long story, it is beautiful.

    Glad to hear your family fared okay in your absence :)

    I am assuming the testing and monitoring are part of a job, if so what a wonderful job that allows you to visit such beautiful places!

    My home and native land! Great pictures. It looks like you had lovely weather. The Okanagan is a wonderful place, isn't it?

    Welcome back! The photos are lovely. Snow is much prettier out in the wild than it is in the city. The squirrel is still in the attic? He has a band now? Letterman will be calling any day!

    Hard to take a bad photo in such a nice place!

    Vani;
    Thanks; nice to be back:)

    SkyBlue;
    Welcome to my blog, and you should go sometime!

    Jennifer;
    I am an environmental scientist and associate professor at a local university. I am blessed with an amazing job. I am technically on maternity leave but this is an annual conference and my husband kindly offered to watch the children and take vacation days off to do it. Thankful thankful thankful...

    Christina;
    I would love to go there and spend some time on vacation; it was such a tease to just glimpse the place while working primarily indoors each day. I literally had my jaw open while flying out on Saturday. The weather was crisp and beautiful.

    Stephanie;
    Hey I would take a harmonica playing squirrel; he could make me some money! ;) No sounds from him lately, but our weather has been unusually warm so I think he's been out and about, still collecting food...we'll have to wait and see.
