What's on my mind today:
1. Ophelia totally missed us; this I recount with a mixture of thankfulness and disappointment (I know, retarded). It wouldn't have been a really bad storm, but I would have liked to have at least seen some really big waves. I am going to regret saying this because there are more out there churning our way.

2. I am still brewing, stewing...GWs lack of proper response, the devastation, the ongoing hardship...our attention spans are starting to be diverted to other things. I am sad, angry, hopeless, the adjectives go on and on for the people of the Gulf Coast.

3. there are two serious storms recently forming; one of which is heading our way and the other is going to enter the Gulf; dear God, here we go again.

4. in the midst of this, normal days with family; the typical, the mundane, the wonderful day to day stuff that so many people are not so fortunate to have...

    Hi Cathy,

I thought you might find this interesting. You can choose any storm and follow its path. http://www.wftv.com/hurricanetracker/index.html

I am not looking forward to Phillipe or Rita. I am afraid to even look to see where they are!
    (I'm in Florida).

Rita is on the way to the Florida Keys; hope you stay safe and away from the storm track!

    hey cathy,
when i lived in miami, florida.... up until june of this year, i too would get excited about storms. last year we got ready for four and nothing. i would get up at night and look out at the water in hopes of big waves. then i would look at the palm trees to see if they were all bent over with the force from the wind. it is wild how far they bend and don't snap. almost like a yoga back-bend. have a good day. the screaming monster is too funny.
