Roll top up and ready to blog...
More pressies ... you are a lucky girl !!!
Love the desk. I want one, I need one, like that. Oh to have somewhere that I can leave all my stuff, and then roll down the door and not have to look at it.
It is a really beautiful desk, you have done well.
Take care, Meow
What a nice package but I'm going to have to ask too: what is soap paper? That poetry card sounds really nice :)
From the size of the chair next to it, I have calculated that this is a desk of immense proportions that you will probably only be able to use standing on tiptoe. Grandiose, yet impractical!

Everyone;
Soap papers are thin pieces of soap that you can carry in a package in your purse and use when you don't find soap in a public washroom, for example. You simply place a piece on your hand and then it lathers when wet. Wonderful things! In the photo, they are the package with the blue flower shaped papers...
Jase;
Grandiose, to match my ideas....smart alec :)
Yay! It arrived!!! I understand why, but it is funny that it takes mail longer to get to Canada than it does to Greece or the U.K.
The desk is beautiful, but yes, looks like you must get a bigger chair :)
I've been out playing in the snow today. We're to get about 20 inches. How about you?
Stephanie;
The storm has arrived here.. we are expecting 20-25 cm. But then perhaps rain?...yuck. I am hoping for a snow day! My brother-in-law is in Boston right now for a conference and supposed to be driving home again tomorrow. How is there now and what is the forecat? I have been checking Boston stations but don't know if it is being over-dramatised..hard to get the accurate impression.
Gurgo;
Thank you! :)
It's still snowing. I'm going to throw a few pics from before noon up on my blog, then I'll go back out in a bit. It's supposed to stop by 7, but stay really, really cold. There IS a lot of snow. The main roads ought to be okay pretty soon after it stops. It'll take the neighborhoods a while to dig out though.
What a cool and thoughtful gift! What is soap paper?
The desk is absolutly GORGEOUS. I'm so jealous!
PS - I just scrolled down and read what soap paper is. That sounds awesome! I've never seen these.
Ooooh, that is so nice looking. Really classy. Hope the dinner was really nice. :)
What a lovely desk! It looks just like my mother's, but without the computer! haha! Congrats!
Have a great Monday!
Love,
Sarah
The desk looks great, Cathy. Good luck on getting your snow day.
Like evryone else, I was wondering what soap paper was. I read the description but I'm not sure I'm nay the wiser now. I'll look at the pic again and see if that helps.
Gorgeous!
I'm surprised more people haven't ever heard of soap paper (my Mom always called them "soap leaves", though)
Wash up and get writing!
Thanks for the nice comments about the desk, friends...no snow day here, unfortunately...we got snow but not nearly the amount that NYC or even Boston received. Darn. SO here I am with both boys....I am going to bake cookies today and try and stay sane. That's all. I hope to make a new post soon.

The desk is beautiful and certainly looks like worth the wait.
It's fun to get packages!!!
